As I said against an earlier comment, and as you will know yourself, looking at pictures is very much what the viewer brings, especially where the image is less explicit.
I lay the photograph before you for you to decide the story. 😉
One of the magic things about photography is the ability to select what we show.
One of the advantages of giving a title (and I know many would say it shouldn’t be necessary), is the ability to nudge the viewer down a train of thought.
As you suggest, who’s to say that three seconds later the lady didn’t raise her hand and wave to somebody below? ….
I didn’t say so in my comment but I got a feeling of sadness, can’t really say why. It had nothing to do with the title because I had not read it. I suppose that is the quality of a photo that it is deep enough to say different things to different people.
Absolutely. I think it also helps we can’t see her face, we can’t engage with her totally.
Stunning shot
Thank you!
A very evocative image.
Thank you.
So very special, in a good way…:)!
Thank you – though as with most pictures it’s what you bring to it that makes it what it is.
That`s true:)
Love this…
something about it almost feels surrealist to me…
maybe like something expected is about to happen…

I would love to know if there is a deeper story to this, probably quite mundane and she simply stopped on her way back from the shops for a breather.
