Cobbles

Two images of the same cobbled street in York, England – this one minus yellow lines!


I kept this one as lit by the sodium lamps, I guess I could have corrected for white balance but I chose not to this time.


Same spot but shallower angle view. Converted to black and whtie.Β  I’ve taken huge advantage because the road was damp.Β The road is very close to an area known as ‘The Shambles’.

  1. I like the sodium light … the first one… I’m not sure if it’s just the angle or not but in the first one I seem to be able to see more of the cobble… Very nice.

  2. As soon as I saw the first photo, in my mind I began to sing, “Follow the yellow brick road! Follow the yellow brick road! Follow, follow, follow, follow, follow the yellow brick road!”

    There is a unique rich quality to the photo.
