Leaping Salmon


A sculpture by the side of the River Wharfe in Wetherby, West Yorkshire.  The local Environment Office (or whatever they call themselves today) have aspirations to get Salmon to breed in the river again.  I have seen information that suggests they do get the occasional Salmon come up the river but as to breeding……

This is a night time shot – with the only lighting as harsh tungsten floodlights.

  1. A great photo Stephen…not sure salmon would want to breed in the Wharfe though..maybe they could arrange for some grizzly bears stationed at the weir in order to make it more realistic…
