The path through the wood just here is like a quagmire, where it has been churned up by walkers. Fortunately, when I passed through the ground was quite frozen – hard enough to twist an ankle without care, but soft enough to sink through the ice should you stand still for a moment. Wellies or gaiters would be the order of the day in warmer conditions.

Sounds much like the woods around where I live (but I guess that’s true of any woods…) They’re the most serene places — unless it’s Saturday morning and everyone in town has decided to walk their dogs.
The light in this image is very very lovely.
Thank you! 🙂
the thing that really disturbs me about these places, especially when it’s a little warmer, it’s the stench of dog urine.
I agree, the exposure is perfect.
Thank you!
It does seem like an inviting stroll. Though the smell of dog urine doesn’t sound too enticing. I noticed during the recent weather that the snow around most trees in my street was a suspicious shade of yellow – nice!
Grim, eh?
