What a great composition I really like the use of the organic flow of the water as a counterpoint to the strong geometry of the structure. I think the color in the right hand side is spot on and really completes the image.
Yes. I was some distance from the dam – security fences barred the way – I suspect it would be a nice place to sit and have a sandwich, simply watching the patterns develop down the outfalls.
O, I see… they are the steps in the last photo then?
oops – you’re right, I’m wrong, Sorry! they are steps – I was thinking of another photo.
No I didn’t walk down the steps, that part of the dam is fenced off by the Water Authority – though it wouldn’t take much to leap over the fence, it’s a fence that once leapt leaves little room for pretending you crossed it by accident. 😉

They are not really steps in the conventional sense – ie not meant for people to go up and down – you’d need pretty long legs to step up.
