St. Oswalds Church, Leathley

St. Oswald’s Church, Leathley, North Yorkshire.

I was quite interested in this church as it seems to have an unusual window in what I presume to be the aisle – perhaps it forms a small side chapel.  Unfortunately, on this visit I was not to find out as the church was locked.  Another visit for another day with arranged access – my list mounts.

    • I can’t say no, but I feel that these would not be. They are typical Victorian grave markers and not particularly unusual – I suspect they will be family plots.
In my exploration of the local churches, I tend to find that graves or memorials of former vicars tend to be right next to the church itself and those of earlier years may even be inside the church.
