St. Oswald’s Church, Leathley, North Yorkshire.
I was quite interested in this church as it seems to have an unusual window in what I presume to be the aisle – perhaps it forms a small side chapel. Unfortunately, on this visit I was not to find out as the church was locked. Another visit for another day with arranged access – my list mounts.
Burial sites for former pastors or rectors in the foreground, is it?
I can’t say no, but I feel that these would not be. They are typical Victorian grave markers and not particularly unusual – I suspect they will be family plots.
In my exploration of the local churches, I tend to find that graves or memorials of former vicars tend to be right next to the church itself and those of earlier years may even be inside the church.
Many thanks for liking my post. I love your church photos, beautiful.
Thank you.
I suspect we may be like minded with regard to churches.
