In The Woods

The purple ‘splodge’ in the foreground is the dreaded Himalayan Balsam. 50 metres to the right of this view the undergrowth is awash with the stuff.

It grows rapidly and spreads quickly, smothering other vegetation as it goes.” – from Royal Horticultural Society website. This stuff is ruining riverbanks, where I’ve seen it most, but now it seems to be widening its horizons. (They should have left this one where they found it.)
