  1. They certainly look pretty enough. When you wrote about them choking out all other types of vegetation, I thought of the kudzu vine in the South of the US which is notorious for strangling things. These don’t look like they’d asphyxiate anyone!

  2. Yes, they are pretty but they are bullies. Where we live (rural Wales) Japanese knotweed is approaching from one direction and Himalayan balsam from the other. I’m not looking forward to a war of attrition when they finally appear on our few acres…
