Beautiful and interesting. I also have some of these round-hole stones that I found on California beaches but I do not think I can take as good a picture of them…
🙂 – I suspect they are a bit more difficult to find in sandstone than in flint – where I used to live there are shingle beaches where the vast majority of pebbles are made of flint.

As youngsters we used to collect them, string them with thick fishing line and hang on a nail in fence.
PS: In California they are not made of flint, they are hard-pressed sandstone, playful children of the earth…
