Wondering what to have for a family meal tomorrow, it just so happened four Pheasants ventured into our garden this morning……. I tried to take a few shots but this was about the best. 😉
That’s a very pale pheasant. I live close to the Welbeck estate in Nottinghamshire and they introduce birds for shooting that are melanistic. It is common to see birds around that are almost black.
Lovely capture! The Pheasants stroll around in our garden too, but I was never able to get a good photo. One day we had pheasant for supper. Immediately 12 Pheasants demonstrated in front of the window, marching up and down. Since then Pheasants are banned from the menu. 🙂
It’s not unknown for Pheasants to come tapping on our glass doors – presumably they can see their reflections. I’ve also had them climb up to peck at the bird feeders hung to feed the small tits/finches.
Nice to see some wildlife on your blog!
🙂
Super nice. That must be a hen… I am grateful that you shot them only with your camera ! such beautiful creatures.
🙂 – just funny looking chickens at the end of the day….

I’m pretty sure this one will have been a ‘for the hunt’ birds raised in pens in local woods and released when the season starts.
