Thank you. I live very much alone at my age (77). Imagination is very important to me, and also making connections with myth or history or fables when I see a striking photograph.
At the beginning of my second year at Uni, I was suffering from ‘photographer’s block’ – I just couldn’t get into the groove. My lecturer, who knew me quite well by then, suggested I read some gothic poetry (if that’s the right term) – in particular ‘Sir Gawain and the Green Knight’. Not being any kind of poetry lover, I did…. problem solved…. though nowadays I wonder if my photography isn’t a little overly influenced by tthat simple exercise! I have since read a number of really early novels to bolster my imagination in that area.
