I’m not sure why the farmer has decided to leave his straw bales out in the field this time of year – I’d have thought they would have been stacked and covered months ago – perhaps they have been just to wet to do anything with. We’ve had a lot of rain (by our standards).

Them thar “straw bales” we call “jelly rolls” in South Texas.
They often cover them with black plastic – which usually brings the comment – ‘They have some bloody big rabbits round here!’ 😉

Very strange to see them on the field at this time of year. Unploughed field too!
Indeed! I can only think the bales just got too wet to do anything with. Whether they will be ploughed in……?
