Making the best of a poor image technically, I couldn’t make my mind up whether I prefered colour or black and white so I made both. IS0 1600 is well over the top of my usual threshold for taking photos with my Canon 80D – but better that than no image! There is an argument for not bothering….. but it’s all part of the learning process – and I liked the sort of regal nature of these Goosanders.

Colour for me this time.
π Thanks!
I am not very impressed by the argument for not bothering, unless of course you are taking photos for print publication or an exhibition. If the subect is interesting, the photo is interesting in my book.
All part of the learning process as far as I’m concerned.
I like the colours – is the one at the back a youngster or a female? Whichever seems to me he has a bit of mischief on his mind. Look at the gleam in his eye! (or her eye for that matter)
HI Diane, the one at the back is a female. They were in a larger group of five males and the single female – perhaps that’s why she has the gleam in her eye – choices, choices, choices! π
