Pareidolia
A new word for me…… pareidolia… seeing stuff in stuff. I didn’t notice this ‘herbivore-like’ creature when I took the photo but I noticed it when I was processing it.

Slate-throated Redstart
Myioborus miniatus – shame I didn’t get the end of the tail.

Red-eyed Stream Frog
This portrait was taken at night using torchlight/flashlight. Whilst I believe it is a Red-eyed Stream Frog, I’m happy to be corrected on this. There seem to be alternative Latin names – Duellmanohyla uranochroa or Duellmanohyla rufioculis – maybe they are different animals?

Spider Monkey
Spider Monkeys are one of four species of monkey in Costa Rica. We saw a few troops during our stay – trying to get a decent photograph of them was an exercise more difficult than I imagined it would be. Their speed through the canopy, the infuriating habit of my auto-focus to grab anything but focus on the subject and the relatively low light levels didn’t help in this regard.

Poison Dart Frog
Another from Costa Rica. This little frog was tucked in the undergrowth by the side of a formal footpath through a rain forest.

Red-legged Honeycreeper
A male Cyanerpes cyaneus.
