Ah, the poor people of Ferrybridge, it sounds so quaint, but with the power station, the A1/M62 junction and to cap it all the service station, not the most salubrious place! The thin chimneys look like they’re making some kind of statement! 😉

I suspect, when the mining was going full bore. many of the locals were directly or indirectly employed by the mining and their associates. I did find the town centre a little depressing, but that may have been down to the weather – it certainly didn’t strike me as an affluent town, but the folk seemed friendly enough.
